Meet Aimee

My name is Aimee Bean, and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pelvic health for all genders, orthopedics, and hypermobility conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD).

I am passionate about continuing to grow my knowledge in order to better support these populations. Outside of the clinic, I regularly attend continuing education courses, pursue ongoing learning through current research and professional literature, and serve as a teaching assistant for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Medical understanding is constantly evolving, and I believe staying current with evidence-based care is essential to providing the highest level of treatment.

I founded Lumina Physical Therapy in 2026 to create a practice model that allows me to fully support patients with complex and often interconnected conditions. Many of these cases involve multiple body systems and require individualized, comprehensive care that is difficult to achieve within traditional insurance-based treatment models. By operating out-of-network, I have the flexibility to provide the time, attention, and whole-body approach my patients deserve.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially camping with my family and walking my two dogs.

My Treatment Approach

My treatment approach combines hands-on therapy, movement retraining, and patient education. I believe understanding your body is an important part of healing, and I work closely with each patient to build long-term strategies that support function, resilience, and quality of life.

Treatment may include

  • Myofascial release

  • Visceral manipulation

  • Neural manipulation

  • Dry needling

  • Movement and stability training

  • Strength training

  • Biofeedback

  • Education and self-management strategies
